“I read about Music in Motion on the Housing Care website when I was looking for some live entertainment for a number of Easter Parties due to be held at our Sheltered Housing Complexes. The range of musical genres was very appealing as was their extensive musical knowledge, which spans a number of era’s. Also, giving tenants the opportunity to participate in the workshop, by playing instruments and singing along and making it fully interactive, was a major attraction!
The parties were very successful and this was largely due to the professionalism of Lesley and Margaret. All tenants enjoyed singing together and there was even some dancing too! Since Easter I’ve booked Music in Motion on a number of occasions – even at short notice, and they’ve never let me down.
I would recommend a workshop for older people in any setting and can fully endorse that Music in Motion make an otherwise ordinary day a memorable one! Thanks girls!”
“Music in Motion provides music therapy to Quarriers Glasgow Group Activities every week and the adults with learning disabilities who attend this thoroughly enjoy their time there.
The music is engaging and changes every week so there’s a lot of variety. The group members are offered to choose which music instrument they would like to play and if they would like to get up to dance. As well as enjoying singing and dancing, the group members also take part in a quiz and relax to classical music.
The group members look forward to Music In Motion each week.”
“The monthly Music in Motion workshops give our residents a real lift in mood and spirit, not just during the workshop but for the rest of the day after the workshop has ended. This can only have a positive effect on their overall health.
The staff also really enjoy the music and movement and everyone joins in. We always look forward to Lesley’s visit.”
“All the residents really enjoy the music workshops and they just love Lesley. There is always a lot of participation and we have been amazed by the reactions of some of the residents who previously never joined in with any activities.
One gentleman doesn’t usually open his eyes and even he really enjoys the music workshops and looks forward to Lesley’s next visit”
“Music in Motion is inspirational – it’s like switching on a light. The music begins and the residents come alive. I have no doubt our residents quality of life has improved on many levels and they all look forward to their “noise making” session.”
